Santa Barbara Bikes to Go not only has the coolest bikes, but they also had my Speedplay pedals at no additional charge. This saved me having to remove and pack mine. Also, one has to check a bag if they plan on bringing a pedal wrench. They do offer women specific seats as well, but smart girls only make the mistake of not bringing their own seat once. 🙂
The customer service was fabulous! Not sure if ownership has changed since the review from donna v, but Mitch and Brian took super good care of me. I provided my measurements prior to arrival, they had the bike set up for me, put my seat on, and looked at the fit. They also provided a seat bag complete with flat repair essentials and a nice multi-tool.
This company specializes in renting bikes. They had all different kinds of bikes too from beach cruisers, mountain bikes, kid bikes, and some bikes I’d never seen before with super fat wheels. They’ll even deliver them to your hotel.

“We drove our family of 6 to Santa Barbara from the Bay Area, and arranged to have bikes delivered and picked up to our resort. Our bikes were perfectly matched for us, and waiting for us as promised as we ended up arriving later than we hoped. I didn’t realize we would need a bike trailer and it was delivered the same day I requested it, with another bike for our friend. Bikes were awesome quality, service was perfect and could not have asked for a more seamless process. look no further for bike renting and awesome guys to work with! Vicki S. – June 2015
Easy, reasonable price, Free Delivery, high Quality bikes.
The service was great. Contacting the company to reserve the bikes was wonderful. A quick call and it was done. Bikes were delivered to our rental house on time and in great shape. Matt was great. They were flexible with pick up. Great value for high quality bikes. Loved it! CoDoc – Jan 2015
“I rented from santa barbara bikes-to-go in June and have to say that it was the best bike rental experience I have ever had: The equipment was top of the line and came fitted to my purposes and measures. Adam has a great fleet of bikes and the at-home delivery service s convenient and effective. On top of that, it is great to get real time insights on routes and suggestions from someone who is an experienced local cyclist. Great service and business model! Christian C. (New York) – May 2013
“I would like to thank you again for the very good service you provided us for our vacation in Santa Barbara. We were especially impressed by the personalized details and trouble you underwent to make sure we had the best experience possible. Take note that throughout our stay in CA we made other bike rentals that did not come anywhere close to what we got from Bikes-to-go. Thanks a million to you and your team! Jacques P., Montreal, Canada – July 2012
“When I was in Santa Barbara in February 2012, I rented a bike from SB Bikes To-Go for the entire month. I got a premium bike and the rental cost was very reasonable and the service was fantastic. Glad I rented rather than shipping my bike. It’s a great service! Tony S., Upstate New York
“Love the bike, fit is perfect!!!…It flies! Power transfer is exceptional and the frame is stiff and responsive but doesn’t jar your teeth loose on bumps…Very impressed. I just added the Cannondale Synapse to my short list of ‘the next bike.’ Sean J., Tennessee
“We can’t tell you how much we wish we were still there!! I know we’ll be calling you again when we are planning our next trip to the central coast. Thanks again! Sue H., New Hampshire
“We had a wonderful time in Santa Barbara, in no small part due to being able to rent higher end road bikes instead of typical recreational level bikes to tour the place! Your service was excellent (personal delivery/pick-up is a plus), the bike map of the area an asset and the bikes performed well with no concerns. Karl B., Washington
“Thanks for the bike. The Tarmac is a quality machine for sure. I had two really nice rides: the first was along the coastal route through UCSB, then up along Cathedral Oaks to San Marcos. I rode that up to the 154 and turned around to head home. About 1.75 hours. Today I just rode straight up San Marcos, this time crossing 154 and taking that as high up as it would go — eventually getting to the road to Gibraltar, I think. Great climb. It took me over an hour just to get to the top, but the views and the feeling of accomplishment made it worth the price of admission. Anyway, thanks for the advice and great service.
